Maryland State Police are searching for a man suspected in an armed robbery Tuesday evening in Finksburg, authorities announced today.

Officers were called about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday after a masked, armed man allegedly threatened a woman in the parking lot behind Finksburg Shopping Center, took her purse and fled on foot.

No one was injured in the crime, which occurred in the 3000 block of Gamber Road, police said.

Investigators searched the area but did not find the suspect, believed to be in his early 20s. He was described as white, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a thin build and short brown hair. Police said he was last seen wearing a light-colored, long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
