2 armed robberies in Annapolis might be linked, police say

February 15, 2005

Annapolis police say two armed robberies over the weekend might have been committed by the same men.

According to police, the robberies occurred early Saturday about an hour apart; the first took place about 12:45 a.m. in the 200 block of Boxwood Road.

In that case, a couple told police that two men approached them, pulled out handguns and demanded money, said Officer Hal Dalton, a city police spokesman.

Dalton said the male victim gave the gunmen his wallet; they took about $60 and ran.

The second robbery occurred about 1 1/2 miles away at Chesapeake Avenue and Burnside Street in Eastport about 1:55 a.m., Dalton said. In that case, a man was robbed of $20 by two men who implied that they were armed, Dalton said.

No one was injured in either incident, and no arrests have been made, Dalton said.
