On January 29, 2005, JEAN MARIE SCARPULLA beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend died comfortably at her home from pancreatic cancer. Jean was born February 8, 1932, in Michigan and moved to Dundalk, MD, as a young child where she lived her remaining life. On the Fourth of July in 1958, across a back yard fence, she met her beloved husband Costantino (Que) Scarpulla. On December 7, 1958, they married and were later blessed with three children; Karen, Nick and Carmen. In addition to motherhood and homemaking, she held several accounting positions at C&P Telephone Company, Federal Yeast Corporation and Kipp & Sons. Jean experienced the joy of becoming a grandmother to Brianna and Madison Scarpulla. She was an enthusiastic, kind woman, who was active in many organizations such as the Catholic War Veterans, Young at Heart and the St. Rita's Women's Club. She enjoyed traveling, bingo, and read extensively. In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, Jean is survived by her sister, Nicole Vernatter, and daughter-in-law, Dawn (Jones). Her parents, Nicholas and Pearl Posteraro, her brother Carmen Posteraro and son-in-law William Brooks preceded her in death. Jean leaves her family and friends with much love, compassion, and the strength to pursue happiness. Viewing and Services were held at Connelly Funeral Home, on Sollers Point Road in Dundalk, MD. A Mass was held at St. Rita's Church in Dundalk, MD, on Wednesday, February 2nd, followed by her burial at the Garden of Faith Cemetery.
