St. Peter's women's basketball team started the second half on an 11-1 run as they went on to defeat visiting Loyola, 67-53, last night at the Yantelli Center in Jersey City, N.J.

The Peahens (9-14, 5-8 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) built up their largest lead in the second half, 44-30, before the Greyhounds (7-15, 6-7) went on a 6-0 run.

Loyola cut the lead to 50-41, but got no closer as St. Peter's went 9-for-12 from the free- throw line.

Tyonna Vance and Tiffany Jones led the Peahens with 14 points each. Jackie Valderas and Lauren Troupe each had 12 for Loyola.

St. Mary's 78, Gallaudet 37: Lisa Daciek scored 13 points to lead the host Seahawks (12-8, 6-4 Capital Athletic Conference) past the Bison (5-14, 1-9).

St. Mary's totaled 39 points while holding Gallaudet under 20 in each half.

Marymount 85, Salisbury 63: Katie Armentrout scored 18 points for the visiting Saints (13-9, 8-3 Capital).

Kiera Watkins led the Sea Gulls (12-10, 6-5) with 14.

Mary Washington 67, Goucher 45: The visiting Eagles (17-5, 9-2 Capital) went on a 16-0 run to start the second half.

Liz Hickey led Mary Washington with 15 points and Colleen Orton had 10 for the Gophers (2-17, 1-10).

Keystone 44, Villa Julie 40: Despite tying the score, 38-38, on a Cara Hill jumper with three minutes left, the host Mustangs (11-5, 6-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference) were held to two points the rest of the way.

Amanda Dawson led the Giants (11-5, 6-0) with 12 points and Alicia Barnard had 11 for Villa Julie.

Men

Johns Hopkins 68, McDaniel 63: Eric Toback scored 23 points as the visiting Blue Jays (10-4, 13-7 Centennial Conference) held off a late rally by the Green Terror (4-17, 2-12).

Kyle O"Connor led McDaniel with 15 points.

Goucher 90, Mary Washington 78: The host Gophers (16-6, 7-4 Capital) ended a five-game losing streak.

Goucher led 43-32 at the half and took their biggest lead, 59-35, with 13:32 left.

Mary Washington's Mike Lee had a game-high 30 points. James Russo had a career-high 28 points for Goucher.

Villa Julie 85, Keystone 64: Anthony Fitzgerald (25 points) led five Mustangs (12-7, 7-2 North Eastern Athletic Conference) in double digits as they defeated the Giants (14-1, 7-0).

Jajuan Davis led Keystone with 21 points.

Marymount 62, Salisbury 58: Ed Carrai scored 15 points as the visiting Saints (8-12, 4-7 Capital) defeated the Sea Gulls (8-14, 3-7).

Salisbury's Ray Williams led all scorers with 20.

Hood 82, Strayer 80: Santo Provenzano scored 35 points to power the host Blazers (1-10) past the Tigers (5-11). Warren Jefferson led Strayer with 26 points.
