CUBS: Traded P Kyle Farnsworth and player to be named to Tigers for P Roberto Novoa, 3B Scott Moore and OF Bo Flowers.

NATIONALS: Agreed with OF J.J. Davis and P Danny Rueckel on one-year contracts.

ROYALS: OF Brian L. Hunter agreed to minor league contract and invitation to spring training.


SHOCK (WNBA): Added C Irina Osipova to roster.


COLORADO: Named offensive coordinator Shawn Watson receivers coach and Darian Hagan assistant offensive coach.

HOFSTRA: Announced F Carla Golden has left women's basketball team and withdrawn from university.

UMBC: Alex Hopmann (Annapolis) signed a national letter of intent to play men's lacrosse.

MICHIGAN STATE: Named Ben Sirmans football running backs coach.

NAVY: Kevin Teague was named Diver of the Week by Patriot League and Eastern College Athletic Conference.

OREGON: Suspended men's basketball F Ian Crosswhite for violation of team rules.

TOWSON: The following players signed national letters of intent to play field hockey: G Melanie Fernandez , M Stephanie Kisic (South Carroll), D Katie Martin, F Maureen Meara, F Stacey McGonigal, F Jen Pokopec, M Laura Schnell (C. Milton Wright), M Ashley Troop and M Danielle Wacker (Hereford).


PRO BOWL: Eagles WR Terrell Owens and Patriots DE Richard Seymour will not play in Sunday's game due to injuries. Rams WR Torry Holt replaced Owens on NFC team, and Jaguars DE John Henderson replaced Seymour on AFC team.

BUCCANEERS: Signed FB Tom Lopienski. Claimed RB Johnathan Reese off waivers.

CHIEFS: Named Terry Shea quarterbacks coach and Jason Verduzco tight ends coach.
