ALMA PFEFFER (nee Bowles), born October 31, 1924, died February 8, 2005, beloved wife of Henry Pfeffer. Also survived by one brother and three sisters. Interment private.2005, JOSEPH V. PRUETT, JR., 85, of White Hall, MD., husband of Virginia M. (Wolfe) Pruett, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage on August 15, 2004; father of William E. Pruett and his wife Agnes of Spring Grove, PA., G. Jean Pearce and her husband Robert of Spring Grove, PA., Ginni Zachmeier and her husband Gus of Forest Hill, MD., Betty J. Stallard of Cockeysville, MD., and Robert V. Pruett and his wife Victoria of Stewartstown, PA; brother of Pauline Gryder of Hampton, TN, Jean Campbell of Hampton, TN, and Max Stout of New Providence, PA; son of the late Joseph V. and Jettie S. (Beavers) Pruett, Sr. Also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. He retired from the former Federal Paperboard Co., White Hall, MD, after 43 years. He was also a farmer. He was a member a Past President of the local chapter of Paperworkers and Papermakers of America, a member and former Director of Hereford Volunteer Fire Company, and a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1152, Bel Air, MD. He attended Wiseburg United Methodist Church, and was an avid sports enthusiast, hunter and gardener. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 13 at 1:30 P. M at the J. J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom, PA. Viewings will be Saturday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P. M at the mortuary. Interment in Wiseburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wiseburg Cemetery Trustees, Inc., POB 86, White Hall, MD, 21161.
