On February 5, 2005, VIRGINIA M.; dear sister of Walter F. O'Neill, Jr. and the late Patricia R. Snyder; beloved aunt of Mary Susan Snyder, Lawrence J. Snyder, M.D., Joan F. Macari, Elizabeth A. Walter and James and Edward O'Neill. Also survived by 13 great nieces and great nephews. Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Road (beltway exit 26), on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church Towson Thursday 10:45 AM. Interment Parkwood Cemetery.2005, ALICE M. PARHAM (nee Warner) (100) beloved wife of the late Clarence A. Parham. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends. She attended Morgan Academy Boarding School, and remained on campus, enrolling in Morgan College and graduated in 1928. She along with other students raised money for a walkway to Carnegie Hall, the first to be constructed on campus. She organized the YWCA, was a charter member of the Alpha Gamma Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She had the distinct honor to be a member of the Women's Basketball Team (1924-1928) coached by Charles R. Drew, the late noted scientist who was first to store blood plasma. Martin D. Jenkins, President, Morgan State College appointed her as Director of the first Student Union Building in 1958. The "Alice Warner Parham Ballroom" was named in her honor. In June 1994, the Junior Class named her one of "Morgan's Outstanding Women". Retired in 1970 but continued activities with the President's Committee Morgan State University Choir, Baltimore Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Morgan State University Women and the Morgan Oral History Project. She spent 87 years at Morgan State (Academy-College) University including her active support following retirement. At the age of 98, 2002, she published a book; "I Remember Morgan In the Twenties." Memorial Service to be held at St. James Episcopal Church, Saturday, February 12 at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial funds have been established in her name and may be mailed to: Alice W. Parham Scholarship Fund (MSU), P.O. Box 122, Owings Mills, MD 21117.
