Donald H. Simpson, 75, Martin Marietta employee

Donald H. Simpson, a retired Martin Marietta Corp. employee and former longtime Gardenville resident, died of a heart attack Thursday at Memorial Hospital in York, Pa. He was 75.

Mr. Simpson was born in Charleston, W.Va., and raised in Portsmouth, Va. He went to work for the former Glenn L. Martin Co. at its Middle River plant in 1952 as an aircraft inspector. He retired in 1986 from what was then Martin Marietta Corp.

He was an active member of the Retirees Association of Martin Marietta, United Auto Workers Local 738, and Highland Lodge of the Masons.

Mr. Simpson moved to Fawn Grove, Pa., in 1999. He enjoyed buying, repairing and reselling air conditioners in his garage workshop.

Services were yesterday.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, the former Jacqueline Kesler; a son, Bruce H. Simpson of Delta, Pa.; a daughter, Sharon A. Scheiner of Bel Air; three sisters, Frances Jubela of San Antonio, June Basham of Severna Park and Dorothy Hobbs of Shrewsbury, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
