WILLIAM GERALD D'AZEVEDO "GERRY", JR., age 49, died Saturday, January 29, 2005 in Rotonda West, Florida surrounded by family and friends. Born and raised in Elkton, MD, he was the son of Teresa Di Paola D'Azevedo of Elkton and the late William G. D'Azevedo, Sr. He was a 1973 graduate of Salesianum High School. He attended the University of Maryland and graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He resided in Baltimore for over 20 years, where he was a funeral director with Rucks Funeral Home and owned and operated a graphic design firm, Ben Davis and Associates, with his wife Debbie. In 2000 he relocated to Ocean Pines, MD and worked in property management. In August of this past year he had moved to Rotonda West, Florida. Up until his illness, Gerry enjoyed his life long passion of fishing and boating. He was also a past member of Claude Profili Lodge OSIA. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Debbie Davis D'Azevedo, Rotonda West, Florida; brother, Mark D'Azevedo and wife Candy; sister, Lisa Hostetler and husband Robert, all of Elkton; four nephews, six nieces, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. A memorial mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 454 Bow Street, Elkton, MD, on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 3 P.M. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Children's House by the Sea, P.O. Box 3627, Ocean City, MD 21843, where he was a supporter.
