What's the point?: A Web site that began 10 years ago as a recent college grad's experiment in brutally honest and personal music reviews has grown into one of the most influential voices in the independent and underground music scene. Last month, the site debuted a redesign to showcase its expanded content.

Pitchfork now offers five music reviews daily (each album rated on a 0 to 10 scale), four news items, an interview with a band or concert review and some kind of unusual feature. This week, it has a list of the site's top 100 singles of the decade so far. No. 1 is Outkast's "B.O.B." The reviewer notes it gives the listener "a sense of being on a possessed treadmill."
