Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Eastern District

Murder/arrest: Sharif Taylor was arrested yesterday and charged with first-degree murder in the shooting Jan. 20 of his uncle, David Covington, 56, in the house they shared in the 2100 block of Aiken St. Taylor was served with an arrest warrant by members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force at Central Booking and Intake Center, where he was being held on unrelated charges.

Southern District

Arrest: Warrant task force members entered a house in the 3400 block of Spelman Road in Cherry Hill about 8 a.m. Monday and arrested resident Nathaniel Mayfield on a charge of attempted murder. Mayfield, 45, is charged with shooting Richard Jefferson, 42, in the 800 block of Bethune Road on Dec. 26 during an argument.

Theft: At least 30 compact discs, a CD player, clothing and a backpack - all worth $460 - were stolen Monday from a 1997 Saturn parked in the 500 block of Washington Blvd.

Burglary: Police were seeking a known male suspect after someone entered a house in the 900 block of Freeman St. on Monday and stole a DVD player and video games - all valued at $350.

Theft from vehicle: Power tools valued at $500 were stolen Monday from a 1995 Chevrolet van parked in the 600 block of Melvin Drive.

Northeastern District

Robbery: Police were seeking several teenage males who attacked a 15-year-old boy in the 5200 block of Harford Road on Monday and robbed him of trading cards valued at more than $200.

Purse snatch: A 22-year-old woman was walking in the 2200 block of Harford Road about 2 p.m. Monday when a man stole her purse containing cash and property - all valued at $80.

Northern District

Stolen vehicle: A gold 2000 Dodge Durango with tags 333M082 was stolen over the weekend in the 3900 block of Elkader Road.

Southwestern District

Burglary: Snacks and money from a vending machine were stolen over the weekend from Hospital Services Center in the 3000 block of Cowan Ave.

Baltimore County

Parkville Precinct

Bank robbery: A man entered M&T Bank in the 7900 block of Harford Road about 11:30 a.m. Monday, gave a teller a note demanding money and fled with an undisclosed sum.

Franklin Precinct

Robbery: A female cab driver was robbed at knifepoint of $25.50 about 9 p.m. Monday by a male passenger she had taken to the Owings Mills Metro station.

Burglary: A radio valued at $300 was stolen from a car stored at Skip's Towing in the 14200 block of Hanover Pike between Jan. 18 and Monday.
