An elderly Baltimore County couple was killed and their daughter was seriously injured Sunday afternoon in a head-on collision in the Greengate area of the county, police said.

Baltimore County police said that Alisha Marie Handwerger, 20, of the 1300 block of Sudvale Road in Pikesville was driving her 1995 Jeep Cherokee east on Green Summit Road in the vicinity of Hurdleford Court about 4 p.m. when she swerved into the westbound lane and hit the 2003 Hyundai Elantra carrying the victims.

Jack Greenberg, 86, was pronounced dead at Sinai Hospital about a half-hour after the crash, police said. His wife, Rae Greenberg, 83, died about three hours later at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said.

The couple lived in the 7200 block of Rockland Hills Drive, several blocks from the accident site.

The driver of the Elantra was their daughter, Linda Greenberg Lilienfeld, 56, of the 1200 block of Brookfalls Terrace. She was taken to Shock Trauma, where she remained in serious but stable condition yesterday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Handwerger was taken to Sinai, where she was treated and released, according to a hospital spokesman.

No charges had been charged in the crash as of yesterday afternoon, police said.
