Farm Museum to hold art classes

The Carroll County Farm Museum will offer its Traditional Arts classes next month and March.

Registration with payment must be made in advance. Project materials are included in the cost unless noted.

Available classes include:

Natural Dyes on Wool: From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 10; $30. Students will dye two skeins of hand-spun wool yarn, which they may weave into a scarf in a second class.

Spinning: From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 12; $20. For beginners and beginners plus.

Theorem Painting: From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 12; $60.

Weaving: From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 12 and 13, and March 21 and 22 (two-session classes); $115.

Primitive Valentine Angel: From 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 12; $15.

Basket Making (three programs): Large Tote from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 12 for all skill levels; $45. Silverware Tote from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 19 for intermediate levels; $45. Cherokee Style Market Basket from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 8 and 15 (two-session class) for all skill levels; $40.

Scherenschnitte (advanced German paper cutting): From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 19; $35. Previous experience of basics is necessary.

Seat Weaving: From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 16 and 17 (two-session class); $45.

Grain Painting: From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 26; $40.

Scratched Eggs: From 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 26; $10.

Band Boxes: From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 26; $45.

"Fraktur" Pennsylvania German Painting: From 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 26; $30.

Braided Paper: From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 8; $35.

Chair Caning: From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 21 to 23; $45.

Requests for full refunds must be received at least 10 days before the start date of the class. A minimum number of students is required for each class to be held. Students may bring a bag lunch.
