Donny McLendon scored a career-high 23 points to lead The Citadel to an 87-72 win over visiting Navy yesterday at McAlister Field House in Charleston, S.C.

David Hooper scored a team-high 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds for the Midshipmen (4-7), who lost for the fifth time in their past six games. Navy gave up 20 points off turnovers, 12 in the second half.

Wright State 70, Morgan State 52: Led by Drew Burleson's 15 points, the host Raiders (6-6) shot 73.1 percent from the field for a 45-22 halftime lead, then held on to win.

Sam Brand finished with 14 for the Bears (3-8), who shot 37 percent from the field, including 12-for-37 on attempts inside the three-point line.

Goucher 90, Thomas 54: Jermaine Saunders led all scorers with 20 points as the Gophers (8-2) recorded their biggest win in four years in the first round of the Sailfish Classic at West Palm Beach, Fla.

Eastern 60, Hood 56: Santo Provenzano scored 18 points in the loss for the Blazers (5-5) at the Weenie Miller Holiday Tournament in Hampden-Sydney, Va.
