Commercial vehicles barred in harbor area New Year's Eve

Restrictions on commercial vehicles will go into effect tomorrow night downtown and in the Inner Harbor for New Year's Eve festivities.

From 6 p.m. tomorrow until 2 a.m. Saturday, commercial vehicles will not be allowed in those areas except for local deliveries. No tanker trailers - including those with local deliveries - will be permitted downtown and in the Inner Harbor during that period.

Streets and areas affected include:

Fayette Street from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to President Street (no commercial vehicles will be allowed on or south of Fayette Street).

President Street from Aliceanna Street to Fayette Street (no commercial vehicles will be allowed on or west of President Street).

Pratt and Lombard streets from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to President Street.

Interstate 395 from the MLK split to Pratt Street (no commercial vehicles will be permitted on I-395).

No commercial-vehicle traffic east of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from the I-395 split to Fayette Street.

Light Street from Pratt Street to Key Highway.

Key Highway from Light Street to McComas Street.

Hanover Street from McComas Street to Montgomery Street.
