20-0 Towson spurt foils UMBC, 60-43

Powered by a 20-0 run in the middle of the second half, the Towson University women's basketball team defeated local rival UMBC, 60-43, at Towson Center last night.

The Tigers (7-4) had three players in double figures, and for the first time since 1999, two players posted double doubles. Tierra Jackson led all players with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Junior guard LaShay Rose had 12 points for Towson, and Kelly Robinson notched her fifth career double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Sharrie Rohde was the lone player for the Retrievers (5-4) in double digits, scoring 15 and grabbing six rebounds. Brittnie Hughes scored eight and Heather Luttrell had six.
