HUTCH AWARD: Honor for courage and dedication to baseball was given to Padres P Trevor Hoffman.

CUBS: Re-signed OF Todd Hollandsworth to one-year, $900,000 contract, avoiding salary arbitration.

GIANTS: Agreed to two-year, $13.25 million contract with free-agent OF Moises Alou, who had been with Cubs.

REDS: Agreed to three-year, $25.5 million contract with P Eric Milton (Maryland), who had been with Phillies. Re-signed OF Jacob Cruz to minor league deal with invitation to spring training.

HORNETS: Traded G David Wesley to Rockets for G Jim Jackson and F Bostjan Nachbar. Waived G Alex Garcia and F Lonny Baxter (Maryland).
