On Saturday, December 25, 2004, RICHARD AUSTEN HITCHCOCK of Langley Park, MD. In 1965 Mr. Hitchcock retired after 24 years as a Chief Gunner's Mate from the U.S. Coast Guard and in 2002 he retired after 34 years from the U.S. Park Police as a Force Armorer. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 136, Greenbelt, MD and the Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council No. 5547. Beloved husband of the late Jennie Abitabile Hitchcock; loving father of Madonna Hitchcock; father-in-law of Thomas Hitchner and cherished grandfather of Anna and Cara Hitchner. On Wednesday, December 29, the family and friends will be gathering from 5 until service at 7 PM at HINES-RINALDI FUNERAL HOME, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD. A Prayer Service will begin at 7 PM. Private Interment at Druid Ridge Cemetery, Baltimore, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Camilus Church, 1600 ST. Camilus Dr., Silver Spring, MD 20903.
