Wagner, Hernandez join Systems Alliance

Systems Alliance Inc. added Jeff Wagner and Veronica Hernandez to the staff of the Sparks-based provider of information technology products and consulting services.

Wagner is a project leader and is responsible for managing software implementation, systems integration and business improvement projects. A resident of Towson, he was formerly with Ease Technologies and holds a master's degree from the Johns Hopkins University. Hernandez, who graduated from the Johns Hopkins University and lives in Joppa, is a training coordinator and has responsibility for scheduling and implementation of internal and external training sessions and development of course materials. She was formerly with Sabre Systems.

Foundation Coal names Ewart vice president

Foundation Coal Holdings Inc. named Ellen Ewart vice president for investor and media relations at the Linthicum Heights-based coal producer. She had been director of market research for its subsidiary, Foundation Energy Sales Inc. Before that she was with Platts Research and Consulting. She is a graduate of Duke University and holds a master's from the Colorado School of Mines.

Banking and Finance

Radick is executive VP, CFO for Columbia Bancorp

Columbia Bancorp appointed James P. Radick executive vice president and chief financial officer. He is responsible for the daily financial, accounting and SEC-reporting operations of the corporation, as well as asset/liability risk management, human resources and investor relations. He formerly was senior vice president, finance of SunBank and its parent, Sun Bancorp Inc.

Health Care

Claiborne, Carmitchel take executive posts with Osiris

Osiris Therapeutics Inc. named Cary Claiborne chief financial officer and Harry Carmitchel chief operating officer for the Baltimore-based biotechnology company, which focuses on adult stem cell therapy.

Claiborne holds an MBA from Villanova University and had been vice president for financial planning and analysis at Constellation Energy. Carmitchel formerly was a principal with Pacific Consulting Group, where he specialized in corporate turnarounds. He holds an MBA from the University of Southern California.
