Applications being accepted for AACC business scholarship

Applications are being accepted for the Philip E. and Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation Entrepreneurial Studies Scholarship at Anne Arundel Community College.

Applications for the spring term are due Jan. 14. Many courses begin Jan. 19 or 31. Some noncredit classes have a variety of start dates, including a 15-week, comprehensive Fast-Trac entrepreneurs training certification program.

In order to be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be full- or part-time credit or noncredit students at AACC, be current business owners or interested in starting a business, and must submit a completed application form and two recommendations by Jan. 14.

Scholarship funds must be used to pay for tuition, fees, books and required course materials for credit and noncredit courses.

Applications are available from financial aid offices on AACC campuses, including Arnold, Arundel Center North, Glen Burnie Town Center and Arundel Mills. Information: 410-777- 2066.

Chamber to sponsor Presidential Gala event

The Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its 58th Presidential Gala beginning at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at La Fontaine Blue in Glen Burnie.

The theme will be wizards, dragons and castles. The Shades of Blue Orchestra will play big band music and there will be games of chance with "funny money." The evening will conclude with drawings for door prizes and a live auction.

Tickets are $65 or $600 for a table of 10. Information: 410-766-8282.
