A motorist was injured in a collision last night after losing control of his Mazda sedan on the Jones Falls Expressway north of Baltimore, state police reported.

The car ran off the northbound lanes before Ruxton Road, went up an embankment, came down and then struck another car, state police said.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured, police said.

For several minutes, police were unable to find the driver of the Mazda, fearing he had been ejected through the shattered windshield after the impact. However, the man was found trapped under the dashboard.

He was flown to Sinai Hospital with multiple injuries. The victim's name was not released; his condition was not available.

The 7:20 p.m. accident closed the northbound lanes for about 30 minutes and caused a traffic backup into the city, police said.
