Baltimore County police said today they had identified the two male suspects implicated in a 13-year-old girl's sexual assault allegation last week, but no charges have been filed in the case.

Authorities cited inconsistencies in different versions of the incident, and investigators seek to question the girl further. Police said she was away from home for the holidays.

Composite drawings of the teen suspects were released earlier this week, but police said today they now believe there is no reason to continue looking for the pair.

The investigation began Friday, when the middle-school pupil told police she was attacked as she waited for her mother to pick her up near Southwest Academy in Westview Park. The girl claimed that two men sexually assaulted her about 3 p.m. as she walked on Johnnycake Road near Marksworth Road.

She told police that while one of the attackers held her, the other assaulted her twice. She also claimed the pair threatened to kill her if she screamed.

The girl was treated at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson after the incident, according to police.
