Runner of the Year

Trisha Repsher, Westminster

The junior proved that last year's success - which included a Carroll County and Class 4A North region championship - was no fluke. After a pair of top-10 finishes at the Peter Geraghty Invitational and in the elite race at the Bull Run, Repsher scored six consecutive victories.

Among her wins were the county championship (19:41) and the Class 4A North region meet (18:50). Repsher capped her season with a ninth-place outing at the state championships.

Coaches of the Year

Ron Waranowski and Bob Repsher, Westminster

When two-time county Coach of the Year John Schubring unexpectedly left the Owls during the offseason, they stepped in. The pair helped build a varsity squad with just one senior among its top seven runners.

Undaunted by their youth, the Owls grabbed the county championship. Westminster completed the year by finishing second at the Class 4A North region meet and fifth at the state championships.
