Player of Year

Krissy Carls, Hereford

The versatile senior played a key role in a Bulls defense that shut out 13 of its last 14 opponents, finishing off the season with a 2-0 victory over Glenelg in the Class 2A state championship game.

Carls started off the season in the midfield, but when she moved back and teamed with Melissa Harrison on defense, the Bulls became just about impossible to beat. A three-year starter, Carls also plays for the Ocelots club team.

Coach of Year

Tammy Mundie, Hereford

After the Bulls lost two of their first three games, Mundie guided them to a perfect 15-game stretch that ended in Baltimore County, regional and Class 2A state championships. The Bulls finished 16-2 and scored impressive 2-0 victories over Dulaney in the county final and Glenelg in the state final.

Both games were played on turf, where the Bulls showcased one of the best short passing games around thanks to their superior speed. Over the past 11 years, Hereford has won six county and three state titles.
