Noreen M. Johnson, 48, state probation counselor

Noreen M. Johnson, a state employee who monitored and counseled those convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, died of cancer Tuesday at the Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care. The Dundalk resident was 48.

Born Noreen Mary Sullivan in Baltimore and raised in Dundalk, she was a 1974 graduate of Sparrows Point High School. She attended Dundalk Community College.

She joined the state Division of Parole and Probation about 17 years ago and worked in its Drinking Driver Monitor Program. She visited courts throughout the state and counseled clients.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at North Point Baptist Church, 4201 North Point Blvd. in Dundalk, where she was a member. She also belonged to Calvary Chapel of Baltimore.

Survivors include her husband of 18 years, James L. Johnson, a retired Bethlehem Steel motor repair technician; a daughter, Jamie Lynn Stehli of Dundalk; five brothers, James W. Sullivan, John L. Sullivan, George P. Sullivan and Matthew R. Sullivan, all of Baltimore, and Christopher F. Sullivan of Warren, Ohio; and two sisters, Margaret A. Heilman of Parkville and Jeanne E. Bachman of Dundalk.
