Poetry group holding holiday party Sunday

The International Poetry Forum will hold a holiday party at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home of Frank and Judy Crowson, 3844 Mount Airy Drive.

The meeting will include a potluck feast.

The monthly event features guest poets, networking, book signings, refreshments, and an open forum for sharing new works by all participants.

County Arts Council showing `Pete's Dragon'

The Carroll County Arts Council will show the classic children's film Pete's Dragon at 2 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Carroll Arts Center in downtown Westminster.

This 1977 musical fantasy combining live action with animation stars a 20-foot high, 40-foot long, frequently invisible dragon named Elliott and his best friend, Pete (Sean Marshall).

The film also features performances by Jim Dale, Shelley Winters and Red Buttons.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for Arts Council members, seniors age 60 and older and children age 12 and younger.

The Carroll Arts Center is at 91 W. Main St.

Tribute to Elvis Presley slated in Hanover, Pa.

Eichelberger Performing Arts Center in Hanover, Pa., will present Ronnie McDowell with a tribute to Elvis Presley on the King's birthday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Jan. 8.

McDowell will also perform his original songs.

Tickets are $29 and $34.

Eichelberger is at 195 Stock St.
