Week Fourteen Recap

Gameday

FUTURE IS NOW FOR COWBOYS

With the Eagles up next, the Cowboys' eighth loss effectively ended Bill Parcells' playoff pipe dream. Dallas wasn't going to do anything in the postseason, anyway, which begs the question, why not Drew Henson?

HELP WANTED

The Patriots need to get CBs Ty Law and Tyrone Poole healthy for the postseason because their makeshift secondary won't hold up.

END OF LINE

As great as RB Eddie George has been, he needs to take a hint from his de-activation in Dallas yesterday. It's over.

MOVING OUT?

If Denver's slide to mediocrity continues, look for speculation to increase about coach Mike Shanahan, who might resign.

POOR PLAN

The Texans would've had a better chance to upset the Colts if they'd gone more often to play-making WR Andre Johnson (three catches).

WAITING GAME HELPS IRISH

Notre Dame is the beneficiary of NFL teams' reluctance to give Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weis a head coaching job. It's doubtful anyone in the NFL would have waited until the Patriots' season was over to talk with Weis.
