Army sent to handle unexploded ordnance found by contractor at Pasadena residence

An Army bomb squad unit yesterday attempted to dispose of unexploded military ordnance that was found at a Pasadena residence, an Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman said.

A contractor doing excavation work unearthed the ordnance at 7903 Camp Road and notified county police about 11:30 a.m., said County Fire Division Chief John M. Scholz.

The matter was referred to the county fire marshal, then the state bomb squad, which requested military assistance at about 3 p.m. from Andrews Air Force Base, he said.

Members of the military bomb squad were still on the scene early last night.
