Fenlon's three-pointer gives Hawks 59-58 victory

Riley Fenlon hit a three-pointer with three seconds left to give River Hill (1-0) a 59-58 victory over visiting Atholton (0-1) in boys basketball yesterday.

Greg Nowak scored six of his 18 points in the final quarter to spark the Hawks. Fenlon finished with eight points.

No. 3 Towson Catholic 90, Poly 43: The visiting Owls blew past the Engineers on a strong showing by Division I prospect and Nigerian national Lawrence Nwevo, who had 14 points. Sophomore center Dante Green had 18 points for the Owls.

The Engineers (0-1) were led by senior forward Kevin Armstrong, who had nine points.

No. 4 St. Frances 67, N. Christian Academy 42: Senior point guard Reggie Holmes scored 24 points and Shawn Alexander scored 10 to lead the host Panthers.

Girls

No. 8 Milford Mill 67, St. Mary's-Ryken 11: Chesley Jetters led the host Millers with 22 points and eight rebounds.

John Carroll 55, Arlington Baptist 13: Allison Humphries led the host Patriots with 10 points. This is the Patriots' first year in the B Conference of the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland.

Perry Hall 48, Overlea 43: Andrea Justis led the visiting Gators (1-0) with 18 points. The Falcons started the season 0-1.

Towson Catholic 52, St. Mary's 49: Tracy Johns finished with a double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds for the host Owls (1-0). India Jones had a game-high 18 points for the winners. St. Mary's fell to 0-1.

Centennial 62, Wilde Lake 44: Lindsay Molesky (13 points) and Katie Bennett (12 points) led the Eagles (0-1) over the visiting Wildecats (0-1).
