GAMES OF THE WEEK

Broncos (7-4) at Chargers (8-3)

Line: Chargers by 3

Lowdown: If either team has a weakness to exploit, it's in the secondary. Jake Plummer threw for 294 yards in Denver's Week 3 win, and Drew Brees threw for 121. Since then, however, Brees has completed 69.3 percent of his passes with only one interception.

The pick: Chargers

Steelers (10-1) at Jaguars (6-5)

Line: Steelers by 3

Lowdown: The Jaguars have lost three of four, and their playoff hopes are on the rocks. The battle of Mid-American QBs (Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger vs. Byron Leftwich) could come down to how well RB Fred Taylor plays against Pittsburgh's No. 1 rush defense.

The pick: Jaguars

WORTH SEEING

Packers (7-4) at Eagles (10-1)

Line: Eagles by 6

Lowdown: The Packers still remember the Eagles' fourth-and-26 pass completion in the playoffs that ruined their season. This should be a dress rehearsal for the NFC championship in Philadelphia.

The pick: Eagles

Texans (5-6) at Jets (8-3)

Line: Jets by 7

Lowdown: If the Texans are going to make a playoff run, they need this game. The Jets control the AFC's first wild-card spot at the moment, but they have the Steelers and Patriots remaining.

The pick: Jets

Vikings (7-4) at Bears (4-7)

Line: Vikings by 7 1/2

Lowdown: With Chad Hutchinson at QB, the Bears don't have ammunition to hurt the Vikings where they're vulnerable.

The pick: Vikings

Titans (4-7) at Colts (8-3)

Line: Colts by 12

Lowdown: Peyton Manning won the year's first matchup of co-MVP quarterbacks handily. More alarming to the Titans: Steve McNair is talking retirement.

The pick: Colts

Falcons (9-2) at Buccaneers (4-7)

Line: Buccaneers by 1 1/2

Lowdown: The Falcons' No. 1 rushing game starts with QB Michael Vick. Their No. 29 passing game usually ends with TE Alge Crumpler in the end zone.

The pick: Falcons

Bills (5-6) at Dolphins (2-9)

Line: Bills by 3 1/2

Lowdown: RB Willis McGahee has triggered the Bills' resurgence from 0-4. Miami already has allowed six 100-yard rushers this year, including McGahee.

The pick: Bills

Chiefs (3-8) at Raiders (4-7)

Line: Chiefs by 1

Lowdown: Chiefs QB Trent Green is hurting, and Raiders QB Kerry Collins finally is warming up.

The pick: Raiders

HIT SNOOZE ALARM

Patriots (10-1) at Browns (3-8)

Line: Patriots by 11 1/2

Lowdown: The Browns won a reprieve from Butch Davis, but today it comes to nothing.

The pick: Patriots

Panthers (4-7) at Saints (4-7)

Line: Saints by 1

Lowdown: The Saints are playing on cruise control. The Panthers are playing on pride.

The pick: Panthers

Cardinals (4-7) at Lions (4-7)

Line: Lions by 6

Lowdown: Is Dennis Green feeding rookie QB John Navarre to the Lions?

The pick: Lions

49ers (1-10) at Rams (5-6)

Line: Rams by 10 1/2

Lowdown: When you give up 45 points, it's not all the punter's fault.

The pick: Rams
