Carroll Lutheran Village names nursing director

Carroll Lutheran Village has named Sharon Cathers director of nursing for the health care center and Diven House for assisted living.

Cathers, who is a registered nurse, comes to the facility from Milford Manor in Pikesville, where she was assistant director of nursing for three years.

She has 10 years of experience in nursing, almost all in long-term care. She has a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Maryland.

Organization selling `Entertainment Book'

CHANGE Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides services and support to people with disabilities, is selling the 2005 Entertainment Book as a fund-raiser.

The books contain discount coupons for restaurants, lodging, transportation, travel, theater and movies, and recreation.

The books sell for $26.

Fibromyalgia/Arthritis Support Group

will meet from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday for lunch at Fenby's in Westminster. Reservations are required. People with fibromyalgia or other forms of arthritis, their family members and friends are welcome. Marge Libertini, 410-239- 8492.

Carroll County Alzheimer's Support Group

will hold its holiday party from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Westminster Senior Activities Center, 125 Stoner Ave. Participants should call by tomorrow to register and for respite care during the meeting. 410-848-4049, ext. 123.

Carroll County Infants and Toddlers Program

for developmentally delayed children 3 and younger will hold a play group from 10 a.m. to noon Friday in the Family Center at 10 Distillery Drive, Westminster. Families receiving services and those who have transitioned out of the program are welcome. Siblings are invited. 410-876-4437, ext. 227.
