Woman suspected in string of heists hits Pasadena bank

Anne Arundel County police say a woman who robbed a Pasadena bank this week is the same suspect responsible for a string of heists dating to June.

The most recent robbery occurred about 7 p.m. Tuesday, when a woman who did not appear to be armed demanded cash by passing a note to a teller at the Provident Bank inside the Shoppers Food Warehouse at 8160 Ritchie Highway, said police spokesman Sgt. Shawn Urbas.

Police canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

According to Urbas, the woman has evaded capture on several other occasions, when she robbed banks in grocery stores in Severna Park, Gambrills and Brooklyn Park between Oct. 9 and Nov. 24.

Urbas said the woman has twice hit the bank at the Ritchie Highway store, robbing it first June 19. He declined to say how much money has been stolen.
