Jazz at the Lyric

NBA player turned musician Wayman Tisdale brings his smooth jazz sound to Baltimore for a performance tomorrow at the Lyric Opera House.

His latest album, Hang Time, was released last summer and spent time on the R&B and contemporary jazz charts.

The Lyric Opera House is at 140 W. Mount Royal Ave. Call 410-727-6000 or visit www.lyric operahouse.com.

Essex rocks

Eight regional bands play Sunday at the Moose Lodge in Essex. The all-ages show, called FearFest 2004, goes from noon to 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

The music will be a mixture of punk, hard rock and metal. The event organizers - who all play in an Essex-based band called Fear 44 - hope this will become an annual music event.

The Moose Lodge is at 106 Riverside in Essex. For advance tickets or more information, call Mark Wenger at 443-286-4417, Angie Cioka at 443-250-4022 or Rita Weidinger at 410-905-8701.

Petteway and friends

If you're into smooth rocks, paintings of sunsets and loose clothing, then put down your herbal tea and listen up - award-winning new age performers Al Petteway, Amy White and Robin Bullock will be in town tomorrow. Tickets to their performance, A Show of the Holiday Season, are $16.

The show will be at the Cellar Stage, which is at St. John's United Methodist Church of Hamilton, 5315 Harford Road. Call 410-521-9099.

Lots of Elvis

Elvis impersonators from around the country congregate this weekend in Baltimore for the Night of 100 Elvises. The annual event takes place from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. tomorrow and Saturday.

Performers will jangle their bellbottoms all night long. Previous years have included Elvis-inspired ice sculptures, cuisine and themed rooms. The event occurs at the Lithuanian Hall. Tickets are $50. A limited number are available for tomorrow night.

The Lithuanian Hall is at 851-3 Hollins St. in Baltimore. Call 410-494-9558 or visit www.nightof100elvises.com.
