Mari L. Stover, 82, accountant, bookkeeper

Mari L. Stover, a retired accountant active in veterans associations' auxiliaries, died of congestive heart failure Thursday at Chestertown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chestertown. The former Glen Burnie resident was 82.

Born in Glyndon, Mari Leishear was a 1940 graduate of Catonsville High School.

She lived in Glen Burnie before moving to Chestertown in 1972 and had been a bookkeeper and accountant for Ames-Ennis contractors on Charles Street for 30 years.

She later did bookkeeping work for the Sailing Association Marina in Georgetown, Upper Shore Aging and Chesapeake Diesel in Chestertown. Mrs. Stover retired in 1991.

For many years, she attended Baltimore Colts games.

She was a member of the ladies' auxiliaries of the Chestertown Elks Lodge, Sergeant Preston Ashley American Legion Post in Rock Hall and Chestertown Volunteer Fire Department.

Her husband of 26 years, Edgar Mays Stover, an automobile salesman, died in 1978.

Services for Mrs. Stover are private.

She leaves no immediate survivors.
