Shortage of flu vaccinations in Harford suspends UCH clinics through November

October 26, 2004

BEL AIR - Upper Chesapeake Health System has put on hold its previously announced flu vaccination clinics throughout November, pointing to shortages of the vaccine.

"UCH is working closely with the Harford County Health Department to distribute available flu vaccine to Harford County residents using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for persons who are at highest risk for complications from the flu," the health system said in a statement. "Currently the only scheduled UCH-sponsored flu clinic will be for children between the ages of 6 and 23 months, children with chronic medical conditions, and pregnant women. The UCH flu vaccination clinic will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center."

Community members can get updated information by calling the UCH flu vaccine hot line at 443-643-2800, Upper Chesapeake said.
