Week Seven Recap

Gameday

October 25, 2004

DEL RIO'S GAMBLE

Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio showed chutzpah when he sent rookie Josh Scobee on for a 53-yard field-goal try when a miss would have given the Colts outstanding field position. Scobee made the gamble pay off.

QUICK PAYOFF

The Bucs couldn't find a way to get WR Keenan McCardell on the field, but the Chargers did quickly and got him the ball five times in a win.

COMEBACK

Chargers coach Marty Schottenheimer, reportedly on the hot seat, has done a great job bringing the team back to respectability.

LIMPING ALONG

The Falcons can protest all they want, but QB Michael Vick is really struggling with his new offense. Right now, it's a bad fit.

SAD SACK

The Bills aren't going to turn any corners until they replace QB Drew Bledsoe, who's a ver- itable statue in the pocket.

CHALLENGING MANNING?

Petty jealousies could tear the Colts' talented offense apart. WR Reggie Wayne, who got in Peyton Manning's face in the fourth quarter on the field, will learn this week that you don't challenge the league's co-Most Valuable Player.
