On Thursday, October 21, 2004, SYLVIA SIFFORD SAUNDERS passed away at her home. Sylvia is survived by her nephew, Julian Sifford, whom she raised and loved as a son, her sisters Brenda Mc Clary, Stephanie Sifford, brothers Milton Sifford and Chris Sifford. A beloved brother, James Sifford, preceded her in death. She is also survived by many loving relatives and friends. Professor Saunders taught English and the Humanities at Morgan State University for over three decades. Students, colleages, and friends passed through her life, and she felt challenged by them and she deeply loved them, and this is her farewell. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at MARCH FUNERAL HOME WEST, 4300 Wabash Avenue, from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Lung Association.
