The body of a man who had been shot multiple times was found slumped behind the steering wheel of his sport utility vehicle parked on a Northwest Baltimore street yesterday afternoon, city police said.

The name of the victim was withheld pending confirmation through fingerprints. Police said a motive for the slaying - the city's third over the weekend - was unknown.

Officers responding to a 911 call reporting shots in the 2500 block of Shirley Ave. shortly before 3 p.m. found the man in a 2000 GMC Yukon. The shots had been fired at close range through the closed driver's-side window, hitting the victim in the head and upper body, police said.

Police also said that they have identified one of the other two victims of weekend killings.

Clettus Curtis, 28, was identified yesterday as the man fatally shot about 11 p.m. Friday near his home in the 2900 block of Hollins Ferry Road.

Police said the name of the man found fatally shot Saturday night in the 1500 block of May Court in East Baltimore was still unknown.

Police said no arrest had been made in any of the slayings, and urged anyone with information to call the homicide squad at 410-396-2100.
