Peyton Hawkins scored the game-winner off a corner in the second half as the fourth-ranked Bryn Mawr field hockey team edged host and No. 7 Spalding, 1-0, yesterday.

Nina Emala got the assist on Hawkins' goal.

Marian Cassally made 13 saves for the Cavaliers (10-6-2) and Amanda Rosenberg finished with five saves for the Mawrtians (14-1-4).

Girls soccer

C.M. Wright 3, Bel Air 0: Christin Nicewonger scored twice and Jen Warner had a goal and an assist to lead the host Mustangs.

The win gave C.M. Wright the title in the Chesapeake Division of the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference, and the Mustangs will face the Susquehanna Division champion, Havre de Grace, next week.

Nicewonger scored in each half - at 36:23 of the first and 39:30 in the second.

Warner got her goal at 20:22 of the second half.

Katie Kolb made 13 saves for the Mustangs (8-3) and Catie Joynes had 12 saves for the Bobcats (8-4-1).
