McDonogh junior forward Xavier Rock, who suffered a broken nose in the No. 1 Eagles' previous game, scored both of his team's goals yesterday in a 2-1 victory over visiting Loyola.

Rock, wearing a protective mask as a result of his collision with Curley goalkeeper Steven King, scored the game-winning goal at the 59-minute mark of the second half.

John Shell scored the Dons' lone goal in the first half.

With the win, the Eagles (16-1-2) improved to 13-1 in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference. The loss dropped the No. 11 Dons (9-5-1) to 8-5 in the conference.
