Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Eastern District

Purse snatch/arrest: A woman, 71, was about to enter St. Xavier Church in the 1400 block of N. Caroline St. about 8 a.m. Sunday when a woman took her purse. Church security officer Nathan Johnson saw the theft and held a suspect for police. Charged with theft was Alisa Johnson, 34, of the 1700 block of N. Caroline.

Southern District

Burglary: Hand and power tools, light fixtures, a ladder and lawn-care equipment were stolen from a house in the 1100 block of W. Lombard St. between Thursday and Sunday.

Southwestern District

Arrest: Chazz Patterson, 23, of the 600 block of N. Woodington Road, was arrested yesterday by the Warrant Apprehension Task Force on a charge of attempted murder. The victim, Ronald Frazer, also 23, was walking in the 700 block of Mount Holly St. about noon on Aug. 18 when the driver of a passing car shot him in the right leg.

Southeastern District

Assaults/arrest: Three men were arguing during a party Sunday night in a house in the 6400 block of Bushey St. when one stabbed the other two with a 15-inch butcher knife. The victims were treated at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault was Leroy Harrison, 20, of the 1600 block of E. Fayette St.

Central District

Theft/arrest: Edward Kenton, 37, of Annapolis, was arrested Sunday and charged with trespassing and stealing a bicycle valued at $300 from a dormitory at the Maryland Institute College of Art earlier that day. The bike was recovered.

Western District

Shooting: An 18-year-old walking in the 1700 block of Moreland Ave. about 11:20 p.m. Sunday heard the sound of several shots and felt pain in his upper body. He walked home, then was taken by ambulance to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and treated for a back wound.

Baltimore County

Woodlawn Precinct

Carjacking: Two men were outside a gas station in the 8700 block of Liberty Road about 4 a.m. Sunday when two men, one with a gun, robbed them of a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero with unknown tags.

Essex Precinct

Arson: A 1998 Ford Taurus was parked in the first block of Timber Creek Court early Sunday when someone threw a Molotov cocktail through a window, causing $5,000 damage.
