Two separate traffic accidents involving motorcycles in distant areas of Baltimore County claimed the lives of three cyclists yesterday, including a New York couple, authorities said.

The latest accident occurred about 6:45 p.m., when a motorcycle operated by a 21-year-old man collided with a car at Rolling Road and Rocky Lane in the Old Court Village area near Randallstown.

The motorcyclist sustained multiple injuries and was taken by ambulance to Northwest Hospital Center, where he died a short time later, authorities said. The name of the victim and information on anyone in the car were not available.

The other accident occurred shortly after 4 p.m., when a motorcycle being operated by a New York man, with his wife as passenger, ran off Tufton Avenue near the Reisterstown area's Tufton Farms community and crashed into a utility pole, police said.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Their names were being withheld pending notification of family members.
