Susan C. Kasdas, 41, law firm office manager

Susan C. Kasdas, former office manager of a Baltimore law firm, died of colon cancer Monday at a hospital in Boca Raton, Fla. The former Pikesville resident was 41.

She was born Susan Cohan in Baltimore and raised in Stevenson. She was a 1979 graduate of Pikesville High School and earned a bachelor's degree in mass communication in 1983 from what is now Towson University.

Mrs. Kasdas was office manager of the Baltimore law firm of Cohan & West, of which her father is a partner, from 1983 until her marriage in 1989 to businessman Panos Kasdas. Since 1996, the couple made their home in Boca Raton with their two children.

"She was diagnosed with cancer two years ago but refused to surrender to it. She never lost her dignity, beauty or pride," said her father, David Rodman Cohan of Roland Park.

She liked reading and enjoyed visiting Greece.

In memory of Mrs. Kasdas, her family established the Susan Kasdas Colon Cancer Foundation.

Services were held Thursday in Boca Raton.

In addition to her husband and father, Mrs. Kasdas is survived by her son, Alexandros Kasdas, 10; daughter Demi Kasdas, 7; her mother, Jackie Cohan of Lutherville; a brother, Allan S. Cohan of Boca Raton; two sisters, Kim D. Engel of Lutherville and Jody C. Wiener of Owings Mills; and several nieces and nephews.
