The Orioles today sent outfielder Darnell McDonald to Triple-A Ottawa and signed right-handed pitcher Jacobo Sequea to the 40-man roster.

McDonald made his major league debut with the Orioles in 2004. He batted .234 with 7 homers and 44 RBI in 107 games for Ottawa and .156 with one RBI in 17 games with the Orioles.

Sequea, 23, went 3-5 with a 2.62 ERA and 27 saves in 59 games for Double-A Bowie in 2004. He led the Eastern League in games pitched and was 2nd in the league in saves, setting a Bowie franchise record. Sequea was acquired in 1999 from Cincinnati along with B.J. Ryan in exchange for Juan Guzman.
