JOE GIBBS RACING: FedEx agreed to become primary sponsor of Nextel Cup car to be driven by Jason Leffler.


ANGELS: Announced that OF Curtis Pride (Silver Spring) declined outright assignment to Triple-A Salt Lake and chose free agency.

BREWERS: Declined to exercise 2005 contract option on SS Craig Counsell. Waived C Gary Bennett. Claimed P Derrick Turnbow off waivers from Angels.

CARDINALS: Added 3B Scott Seabol to 40-man roster.

CUBS: Named Sam Hughes national cross-checker for scouting and Antonio Grissom area scout.

PIRATES: Removed P Mark Corey from 40-man roster; announced that he cleared waivers and became free agent.


MAGIC: Waived C Earl Barron, G Jemeil Rich and F-C Ajani Williams.
