October 14, 2004|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

A man described as in his mid-20s was gunned down yesterday in the second daylight killing this month in the same block in East Baltimore, and police were investigating to see if there was a link between the shootings.

About 5 p.m., the man was walking in the 1000 block of Bonaparte Ave. when a passenger stepped from a white sedan and shot him several times before being driven away, police said. The victim died at Johns Hopkins Hospital, police said.

The other victim, Thomas Ragin, 27, of the 1600 block of Riggs Ave., was shot three times about 11 a.m. Oct. 2.

Anyone with information in either killing was urged to call police at 410-396-2100.
