Baltimore County government offices and District and Circuit Courts will be closed on Monday in recognition of the Columbus Day holiday, county officials said today.

Also scheduled to close are Health Department clinics, libraries, senior centers and the operation of the CountyRide van transportation service for seniors.

Trash, recycling and yard-material collections will operate on their normal schedules, officials said. Those with excess trash are urged to use the Eastern Sanitary Landfill in White Marsh and other recycling drop-off facilities, which will be open on the holiday.

Parking meters will also be in effect.

For further information on service, schedules and drop-off locations, residents are urged to call the Bureau of Solid Waste Management's 24-hour customer service line at 410-887-2470 or visit the bureau's Web site at www.baltimorecountyonline.info/recycling.
