Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southeastern District

Arrests: About 9 p.m. Wednesday, Officer Greg Meagher was in the 400 block of N. Lakewood Ave. when he stopped a 1992 Plymouth that had been stolen in Baltimore County. Arrested and charged with auto theft was Terrance Simon, 21, of the 800 block of N. Streeper St. An hour later, in the 300 block of Loneys Lane, Meagher observed a 1992 Cadillac that also was stolen in the county and stopped it. Arrested after a brief foot chase was a 15-year-old boy from the 400 block of N. Port St.

Eastern District

Arrest: A man charged with first-degree murder was arrested yesterday morning at his girlfriend's house in the 400 block of E. 27th St. by members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force. Ronald Penn, 20, of the 3000 block of McElderry St. is charged in a warrant with the shooting May 15 of Shawn Barnes, 20, in the 700 block of Kenwood Ave. Barnes died a short time later at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Penn was held without bail at Central Booking and Intake Center.

Southwestern District

Arrest: Johnnie Hawkins, 35, of the 100 block of Thomas Guidera Circle was arrested Wednesday at the district station after an interview and charged with attempted murder in the shooting Monday morning of Jonathan Savage, 33, during an attempted robbery in the 4700 block of Pen Lucy Road. Savage, who was shot four times, has been released after treatment at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Northwestern District

Assault: Police were seeking a 50-year-old man suspected of tying a 13-year-old boy to a chair in a house in the 5000 block of Palmer Ave. on Saturday and allowing his dog, a pit bull, to bite the child. The incident was reported Wednesday.

Theft: A power lawnmower valued at $475 was stolen over the weekend by someone who cut the chain holding it to a tree in the front yard of a house in the 2600 block of Garrison Blvd.

Southern District

Burglary: Jewelry valued at nearly $3,000 was stolen Sept. 30 from a house in the 1200 block of Hubbard St. The burglary was reported Wednesday.

Burglary: At least 200 collectible cards, a softball glove and a charcoal grill -- all valued at more than $400 -- were stolen Wednesday from a garage in the 800 block of W. Lombard St.

Baltimore County

White Marsh Precinct

Theft: Someone broke into a locker at Bally Total Fitness in the 8200 block of Town Center Drive on Wednesday and stole $140 in property and cash.

Theft/arrest: A 19-year-old Timonium man was arrested Wednesday by security officers at the Essex campus of the Community College of Baltimore County and charged with breaking into a Chevrolet Blazer parked on the campus that day and stealing speakers and an amplifier.

Essex Precinct

Shooting: Police were seeking a gunman who shot a 22-year-old man in the right arm about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday while the victim stood outside a townhouse in the first block of Gravello Circle smoking a cigarette. He was released after treatment at Franklin Square Hospital Center.

Burglary: Two DVD players and $300 were stolen Wednesday from Radio Shack in the 9900 block of Pulaski Highway.

Robbery: A 71-year-old disabled man in a wheelchair was assaulted by two men and robbed of $300 in the 1100 block of Eastern Ave. about 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Franklin Precinct

Burglary: A television, DVD player and computer were stolen Wednesday from a house in the first block of Garobe Court.
