Credit union plans fair focusing on financial fitness

A free Financial Fitness Fair will be presented by Baltimore's Municipal Employees Credit Union from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the War Memorial Building, 101 N. Gay St.

Open to credit union members as well as the public, the event - held in conjunction with Financial Education Week - is designed to increase financial knowledge and will feature information on topics including fraud prevention, consumer loans, mortgage and home equity loans, and online banking.

Participants include the Maryland Center for Community Development, Baltimore CASH Campaign, Maryland Saves, the Baltimore City Office of Homeownership, HARBEL Housing Partnership, and Consumer Credit Counseling Service. Workshops will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on financial, retirement and college planning.
