Not willing to walk far off the beaten path for unique Baltimore souvenirs? Here is a guide to the more popular and common places to buy trinkets and mementos of your visit to Charm City:


Best of Baltimore

The purchase: "The Crabbiest Cookbook," featuring more than 200 recipes involving crabs. Priced at $29.95.

Best deals: At 25 cents each, this place has some of the cheapest postcards around. You can also snag two touristy T-shirts for $20.

Christmas Dove

The purchase: Baltimore-themed Christmas ornaments ranging in price from $4.95 to $19.95

Destination Baltimore

The purchase: Expandable wallet bags with Baltimore written on them, ideal for tourists needing to get organized with their money and brochures. They retail for $17.99.

Best deal: T-shirts for as low as $12.99

The Flag Shop

The purchase: A full-sized Maryland state flag for $42

Best deals: This store sells three Maryland-themed T-shirts for $22.

The Harborplace Logo Store

The purchase: A wide variety of plush dogs, frogs and cows wearing Harborplace T-shirts.

Best deal: A set of three golf balls inscribed with a Baltimore logo ($9.99).

Hats in the Belfry

The purchase: Crab-shaped novelty hat for $29.99 (although be aware that less-well-made variations can be purchased at other souvenir shops in Harborplace for a lot less, in some cases as low as $5.99).

Magnetic Attraction

The purchase: A wide variety of Baltimore- and Maryland-themed magnets that sell for between $1.99 and $5.99 each.

Making History

The purchase: Edgar Allan Poe shot glasses selling for $4.99 each.

Best deal: A deck of Baltimore-themed playing cards for $2.99.

Maryland Bay Co.

The purchase: One of the few souvenir shops in the downtown area that sells Baltimore-themed snow globes, with prices starting at $10

Best deals: Maryland lighthouse hand-soap dispenser ($10.95); various fine artwork depicting everything from the Baltimore skyline to Fells Point's bar scene ($10.95 to $300).

The Sport Shop

The purchase: Rafael Palmeiro bobble-head dolls for $25. Also enticing is a baby cooler gift set ($18.95), featuring a bottle, teething ring and other infant supplies all with the Baltimore Ravens' team logo on them.

Best deal: Ravens pennant for $3

Theme Restaurants

Hard Rock Cafe -- Inner Harbor

The purchase: Baltimore tourist T-shirts for logo-lovers, Hard Rock's variations retail for between $19.99 and $24.99. Best deal: "Hard Rock Cafe Baltimore" baseball caps for $17.99

Most extravagant buy: "Hard Rock Cafe Baltimore" leather jacket for $289.99

ESPN Zone -- Inner Harbor

The purchase: Only one variation of T-shirt is sold, but it's a cool one ($19).

Best deal: An "ESPN Zone Baltimore" ballcap for $18

Most extravagant buy: "ESPN Zone Baltimore" Polo-style shirt for $44


Celebrate Maryland

The skinny: Got all the way to the airport and didn't buy that one last souvenir for your favorite niece, nephew or cousin? No worries. This BWI Airport gift shop sells everything from Inner Harbor T-shirts ($19.99) to Phillips crab cakes specially packed for the journey home (prices vary depending on market price).

National Aquarium

The skinny: This venue actually features three gift shops -- the Aqua Shop, the Dolphin Shop and the Shark Shop -- all of which sell a plethora of educational materials and, of course, T-shirts (which run from approximately $13 for youth sizes up to $23 for adults).

Maryland Science Center

The skinny: The Science Store is located on the first floor of this venue, selling everything from apparel to science experiments. Members and teachers receive a 10 percent discount.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards

The skinny: There is no better place to buy all things Oriole. The stadium features an Orioles Store and a wide range of vendors.
